Ekiti Set To Reposition Civil Service Through Capacity Building

Ekiti State Government is poised to build an efficient and highly motivated civil service that would effectively drive the 8-point
agenda of the Fayemi-led administration.

The State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development Chief Dayo Fadipe stated this at a one- Day In-House Training organized for Junior Officers of his Ministry. He noted that one of the ideals and strategies of the present administration’s road Map was the to equip the civil servants with required skill through training.

In his keynote address, the State Head of service, Mr. Bunmi Famosaya stressed that the present Administration under the leadership of Dr.
Kayode Fayemi has done so much in motivating and promoting the welfare of civil servants through prompt payment of salaries and allowances. Mr. Famosaya disclosed that the Governor has made substantial provision in the 2012 budget for the training of Civil Servants under the auspices of the Civil Service Transformation Strategy (CSTS).

The Head of service stated that arrangements are on to ensure that production of civil Service Journal Commences before the end of this
year. He commended the Ministry for its foresight in organizing the workshop for the participants and urged other MDAs to emulate the
move.
In his remarks, the Chairman Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Afolabi Ogunlayi stressed that the present Administration will reposition the State Civil Service to ensure that Civil Servants perform optimally.
