Ekiti Varsity To honour Ghanaian VP, UNIDO DG, Prof Tamuno

Ghana’s Vice President, Dr John Dramani Mahama, is among three eminent international figures to be honoured with honourary doctorate degrees by the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti as part of activities marking the  institution’s 17th convocation ceremony and 30th anniversary on Saturday.

Others are the Director General, United Nation’s Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), Dr Kandeh Yumkella and Professor Emeritus and former Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof Tekena Tamuna.

According to a programme released by the University, other highlights of the week-long activities include the investiture of a former Governor of the Old Ondo State, Ambassador Bamidele  Olumilua as the Chancellor of the university.

The Ghanaian Vice President, Dr Mahama, will be honoured with a Doctor of Public Administration, while the UNIDO boss, Dr Kandeh Yumkella, will bag the Doctor of Science degree. Prof Tamuna, will be honoured with Doctor of Letters.

The graduation ceremony will be for graduates of the 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 sets.
