New State Library, Civic Centre For Ekiti Soon – Jegede

Old Ado-Ekiti Prison being demolished.

Ekiti State Government is to spend over N1b on the Construction of a state Library, a Civic Centre and Museum.

The Special adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure and Public Utility, Mr. Kayode Jegede stated this at the kick off of the demolition exercise of the old prison yard and the administrative office.

The Special Adviser said the structures will be erected at the old prison sites in Ado Ekiti.
He said since the prison had been relocated to Afao road, the state government will not spare any effort at turning the yard to a place that would accommodate befitting and modern structures.
Mr. Jegede said the project will be completed within a period of eighteen months and will boost the socio-economic development of the
state.
The Special Adviser said the demolition of the old prison yard will take 2 weeks and appealed for the cooperation of Ado-Ekiti residents
and road users to be mindful of trucks and pebbles around the place.

Mr. Jegede said the government is passionate about massive infrastructural development and will spare no effort at leaving lasting legacies in the minds of the people.
