RE: Bomb Scare At Ado-Ekiti

November 28, 2012

The attention of the Command has been alerted to a rumour of the supposed presence of a terrorist suspect in Ado-Ekiti. The Command wishes to categorically state that no such suspect has been apprehended or brought to the attention of law enforcement agents in any guise whatsoever. However, a suspect was arrested in the premises of the Government House, Ado-EKiti today. The details of the suspect and his purpose will be addressed in a press conference tomorrow by 1400 hours (2:00pm)

The general public is therefore advised to disregard and ignore such rumours as they have no basis. The Command further cautions that the peddling of such rumours and misinformation could have the effect of causing panic and apprehension within the state and consequently lead to breakdown of law and order, and warns that any person involved in such rumour mongering will be called upon to substantiate the story.
All law abiding citizens are thus encouraged to go about their lawful business without fear. The command has put adequate security measures in place to forestall any break down of law and order.
Kindly ensure adequate dissemination of this information please.
