Ekiti State Holds Education Summit 2015

The Abiodun Adetiloye Hall of the Fountain Hotel was filled to the brim this morning with Education Stakeholders within and outside the state as Ekiti State holds it’s 2nd Ekiti Education Summit.

The occasion was graced with government functionaries including the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kolapo Olusola, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mrs. Modupe Alade, Chief of Staff to Ekiti State Government, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, Head of Service to Ekiti State Government, Dr. Olugbenga Faseluka amongst others.

Also at the Summit was the Founder, Afe Babalola University, Aare Afe Babalola, Vice Chancellors of Ekiti State University, Federal University of Technology, Akure, University of Ilorin, Provost of Ekiti State College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti.

Ekiti State Governor while delivering his address showed his profound gratitude to the founding fathers of Ekiti State.

” I am not before you to tell you i have all it takes, i believe you have and will help me to make all necessary impacts on your people. Ekiti is our state, and that is why i personally said, Ekiti Leaders, Ekiti VC’s, Ekiti Eggheads in all institution of learning should be part of this program.” he said

Various Education Stakeholders and Governing Bodies across the state presented papers to the Governor which will be of great use to the purpose of the Education Summit.

While responding to the points made at the Summit, the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose promised the following:

1) I agree with the submission of the representative of the Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin about Teachers Training College.

2) Empowerment along-sides encouraging people, student who have natural talents, fine arts among others.

3) Project Vehicles for the monitoring of the execution of all resolutions at the summit.

Speaking on the issue of tax payment by private school owners in Ekiti State, the Governor said that there cannot be a successful government without money.

“What we call a government is when you contribute your token to the purse of state. My administration will take the issue of tax very seriously” the Governor said.

Furthermore, the Governor promised to execute every outcome of the summit to the letter.
