The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, has urged expectant mothers in the state to properly register in the hospitals for antenatal; saying, its importance along regular visit to the clinics cannot be undermined.
This was contained in her message on Monday at a programme where the First Lady began the distribution of another round of delivery kits (Mama Kit) and milk to some expectant mothers.
Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, who never condemned the traditional places of delivery, said it was necessary for expectant mothers to also register in the hospitals as it may be difficult to admit them should they were referred from mid-wives, because of health history which may be unknown.
Her Excellency further advised the women to embrace family planning and child spacing in other to stay healthy and adequately cater for their children’s needs.
The program which took place at Oye, Moba and Ilejemeje local government areas and shall cut across the state, also featured health talks from dieticians from Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission.
