Principals of public Secondary Schools in Ekiti State have been charged to be alive to their responsibilities and ensure proper monitoring of the government – sponsored Schools Intervention
program for Senior Secondary class 3.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Kolapo Olusola gave the charge at a meeting held with the schools Principals and officials of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST), in Ado-Ekiti .
Dr. Olusola who frowned at the lackadaisical attitude of some principals in the supervision of the government special intensive programs put in place to prepare the SS3 students for the coming WAEC and NECO Examinations warned that any lapses observed henceforth in the scheme would attracts appropriate penalties on the part of the
He advised Principals to cooperate with the teachers handling the special intervention program by providing necessary instructional materials and as well motivate them so that they could put in their best and make a big success of the program. The Deputy Governor also urged them to create a harmonious working relationship with their members of staff and as well ensure that the Vice Principals are adequately involved and properly monitored in the running of their respective schools.
While calling on the Vice Principals to see themselves as part of the schools administrators and cooperate with their principals, Dr. Olusola said the government would not take it lightly with any Vice principal who failed in his responsibilities or undermined the authority of the Principal.
The Deputy Governor promised to convey similar meetings for all the Vice Principals, School Registrars and accredited examination supervisors in Ekiti State.
