Ekiti Government Demolished Some Illegal Structures in Ado-Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose inspecting the demolition of some illegal structures demolished in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayoele Fayose has said that any government official of the ministry of Land & housing found guilty of approving illegal structures in the state capital would be sanctioned accordingly.

The governor stated this while personally monitoring the demolition of some illegal structures in Ado-Ekiti.

Mr Fayose noted that most of the illegally erected structures would have to be demolished as part of his urban renewal policy aiming at giving Ado-Ekiti a face lift befitting of a real state capital.

One of the landlords whose property was also affected Chief Ayeni said that he had secured all the necessary papers regarding his project but never knew that the approval was fraudulently done by some smart officials of the ministry.

While reacting to the exercise, some of the residents Mr Charles Olusola & elder Olumide Ojo lauded the governor for making the state capital a model city, noting that the efforts would go along way in placing Ado-Ekiti where it belong.

The areas visited by the governor were Similoluwa, Adebayo, and Adehun Street along Ekiti state University road.
