FRSC Commends Ekiti Govt. For Making Roads Within State Motorable

Ekiti State Government has been commended for the various road rehabilitation works and new road constructions that are going on which have made many roads in the state quite motorable.
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr, Kolapo Olusola in Ado-Ekiti.
Dr. Oyeyemi, who was represented by the Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Policy Research and Administration at the Corps Headquarter, Abuja, Dr Kayode Olagunju, said that the good condition of the roads and other on-going road construction works would in no small measure reduce road accidents in the state.
The corps Marshal said that he was in the state to sensitize road users on the need to register their vehicles and have valid number plates as well as to ensure that drivers and motorcyclists are properly licensed. He said this would improve the internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state and ensure adequate security.
The Corps Marshal appealed to government to assist his officers at checking the excesses of the drivers of some high profiled government officials who hide under their bosses honor to breach traffic laws. Dr. Oyeyemi said most government drivers do not have valid driver license, calling on government to always send their drivers on tests and training to guarantee their fitness and ascertain their expertise at driving vehicles.
In his response, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kolapo Olusola commended the Corps Marshal for working tirelessly to reduce the rate of accidents on Nigeria roads. Dr. Olusola said his office has keyed-in to various sensitization and
training programs of the Federal Road Safety Commission which had been of great benefit to him and his office, with a promise that the state would continue to partner the FRSC to ensure safety on roads in the state.
