The remains of the late former Governor of the old western Region, General Adeyinka Adebayo have been finally committed to the mother earth at his country home as prominent personalities from and outside the state gathered to pay their last respect to the elder statesman.
Speaking at the Funeral Service held at the All saints Anglican Church, Iyin Ekiti The Dean, Church of Nigeria Anglican communion Arch Bishop Gabriel Laosebikan said politicians should emulate the good virtues of the deceased who fought for the unity and progress of the Yoruba Race
In his remarks the acting president Prof Yemi Osinbajo said that the legacies left behind by the Late General would continue to linger in the minds of Nigerians.
He said that the federal Government recognize his contributions to the nation and promised to name Fuoye after him.
The Nigerian Army personnel also honoured the deceased with 21 gun salute as his remains were lowered into the grave.
Dignitaries were there after treated to a sumptuous meal as popular Artist King suny Ade played melodious tune.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the renaming of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, FUOYE after late General Adeyinka Adebayo as a welcome development.
He thanked the federal government through the acting president Yemi Osinbajo for the honour. According to him, the former governor of the old western region gave his best for the unity and progress of the country.
