13th Zonal Network For Children Commences In Akure

The 13th  Zonal   Network for Children  has commenced in  Akure , Ondo-State with a  call on relevant stakeholders to work towards the realization of  the  2015 deadline for the  Millennium Development Goals.

In her keynote address at the event, the  Assistant  Country Representative and Chief Field Officer of  United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Ms Sara  Beyslow Nyanti  emphasized the need for a more proactive approach  in rehabilitating  children who have fallen victim of Child Abuse.  She  called for the early resolution of the  security challenges facing the nation.

The Ekiti State   Commissioner for Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mrs Bunmi Dipo Salami  is leading  the Ekiti State Delegation , comprising of  Mrs Bimpe Aderiye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education , Science and Technology, Mrs Peju Babafemi , Women Affairs, Social Development and Gender Empowerment; Mr Foluso Daramola, Infrastructure; Dr Dare Ojo , Health ; Mr S.I Folorunso, Planning; Mrs Adekunbi Obaizi, Information and Civic Orientation  and Bar Kayode Abe, Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs as well as directors from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies at the event. The Theme  of the forum is  ‘Children ,Equity and Development’.
