Following the backlog of promotions denied deserving Civil servants in Ekiti state by previous administration, over 46000 civil servants in different sectors have been presented with promotion letters.
These promotion letters for Civil servants have long overdue since 2015 – 2017 and was one of the stipulated promises of the Governor of Ekiti state, Dr Ayodele Fayose during his campaigns.
Formal presentation of these letters was carried out today in Ado Ekiti with the Governor ,Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose available to supervise the process.
Governor Ayodele Fayose who appreciated the solidarity and support of civil servants towards his administration noted that the promotion exercise is of immense value saying “it has been much awaited and is for the benefit of those hardworking civil servants that have been denied their rights for far too long”.
He also reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all civil servants in the state receive their entitled letters before gubernatorial elections slated to hold on July 14, 2018.
The Governor assured the workers that he would pay off debts in form of salaries and drastically reduce the debt burden of the state before his tenure in office lapses.
Speaking earlier, the head of Service Dr Olugbenga Faseluka while commending the Governor, noted that the exercise was first of its kind in Ekiti and is aimed at affording hardworking, loyal and resourceful workers the right to to be promoted as at when due.
He stressed that presentation of these promotion letters is a worthwhile feat achieved by the Fayose led administration despite the economic downturn in Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Raymond Adesanmi maintained that the Fayose led administration remains the only government that supports the masses irrelevant of one’s status or position saying that his good works will forever be appreciated.
The promoted civil servants also lauded the Governor for fulfilled promises and assured that they would ensure that July 14 will stand as a victory date for his deputy and PDP gubernatorial candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola.
In a related development, Mrs Adeosun Christianah Funmi, a retiree from the Board of Internal revenue was honoured by the Governor who added another level to her promotion, elevating her from level 13 – 14 for being of a courageous spirited person amongst peers.
