The Caretaker Chairman of Ado Local Government, Hon Sunday Ibitoye has described the Social Security Scheme embarked upon by Kayode Fayemi-led administration as unique in Nigeria.

Ibitoye made the remarks while addressing the enumerators involved in the second edition of the exercise in Ado. The Chairman lauded the programme stressing that it was the first of its kind in the history of the State and Nigeria as a whole.

According to him, the exercise will go a long way in eradicating poverty and make lives meaningful for the elderly people. Ibitoye disclosed that the Council’s Development Assistants would supervise the programme to improve on the past mistakes identified in previous editions of the programme. He charged the enumerators to live above board by carrying out their responsibilities efficiently.

The Council Boss pledged his support for the enumerators saying that he would provide necessary inputs to make the programme a success. Responding on behalf of the enumerators, Mr. Sunday Adebukola assured that they would not betray the trust reposed in them.
