According to Mr. President, “A key element of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment (SURE) programme  is the provision of massive employment opportunities across the country for our teeming youths”.

He charged the NYSC members to be security conscious and brace up to tackle the present security situation in the country, which according to him, can only be overcome through collective vigilance and committed efforts of all patriotic citizens.

The Chairman of NYSC Governing Board in Ekiti and Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Social Development, Hon. Hon. Olabode therefore urged the corps members to take the orientation course and everything it entails with all seriousness as the experience they garner during the induction course would go a long way in helping them to be role models to the young people they would be interacting with in their area of primary assignments and host communities.

Earlier in his introductory address, the Ekiti State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Baba Hammed N. T. said the NYSC Scheme came into existence as an answer to the yearnings of a nation in search of lasting solution to the problems which plunged her into a-30-month civil war and that the scheme has actually been a potent instrument in promoting national unity, reconciliation and urban/rural development.
