EKSG Pays Over N108M As Running Grants To Public Schools

Ekiti State Government has paid over N108 Million Naira as running grants to all public schools in the State.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Mr. Foluso Daramola made the statement in his office in Ado Ekiti.

According to Mr. Daramola, over N52 million was released to all Public Primary Schools in the State for the three terms of 2018/2019 Academic session. He added that over N56 million, Eight hundred and fifty four thousand, One hundred Naira was also released as running grants to 208 Public Secondary Schools for second and third terms of the 2018/2019 Academic session.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology lamented that despite the fact that the Fayemi-led administration declared tuition -free in all public schools in Ekiti State, some schools are reported to be sending students out of school to collect illegal fees. He therefore reiterated that any schools Administrator caught collecting such fees will be suspended after due investigation.

He affirmed that education is free and compulsory up to Senior Secondary School levels in all Public Schools in the State.
