Ekiti BPP Signs MOU with PPDC, Abuja on Procurement Standardization

The present administration under the leadership of Dr. Kayode Fayemi
would not relent in its resolve to reposition the Ekiti State Bureau
of Public Procurement for effective service delivery, in tandem with
international best practices in procurement processes.
This was contained in a statement credited to the Special
Adviser/Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement Mr. O’Seun
Odewale during the Bureau’s weekly Knowledge Sharing Forum which was
delivered by the pioneer Director General of the Bureau of Public
Procurement, Dr.Bayo Arowolaju.
Odewale in his submission informed that the Bureau has taken another
bold step towards achieving the laudable objectives of the Fayemi
administration on Procurement issues by signing a memorandum of
understanding between Ekiti State Bureau of Public Procurement and
Public Private Development Centre for open contracting data standard
in Abuja.
He noted that the Bureau is equally engaging with prospective service
providers to develop platform for the full adoption of e-procurement
as a way of creating a seamless procurement process.
In his presentation titled “More than a Decade in Procurement”, the
pioneer Director General, Dr. Bayo Arowolaju emphasized that the whole
process of procurement bothers on spending less to achieve more.
Enumerating the important factors to be considered in procurement
process which includes identifying what is needed and who is
supplying, getting best supplier, management of the supply (i.e.
contract management), legal framework of international standard among
others, Arowolaju said transparency is key to the whole process.
The Secretary to the Bureau, Mr. Olufemi Adedipe called on
Procurement stakeholders to ensure that all hands are on deck in order
to achieve the desire of the Bureau.
