Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has continued to receive accolades from interest groups on the massive renovation of public secondary schools in the state.
The latest came from the Old Students of Ola-Oluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti, which was one of the benefiting 100 schools in the first phase of Operation Renovate All Schools in Ekiti (ORASE).
The second phase of the exercise expected to touch 80 schools will be carried out between December and January when schools are to be on Christmas/New Year vacation.
In a letter of appreciation to Governor Fayemi made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, the old students praised Fayemi
for turning their alma mater into a “mini university campus.”
The letter was jointly signed by the Ola-Oluwa Old StudentsAssociation President, Lt.-Col. Tajudeen Olabode; Secretary, Mr. Fatai Adeyoju and the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Popoola Ojo.
The old students also commended the governor for numerous developmental projects being carried out by his administration in all
nooks and crannies of the state.
The letter reads in part: “We were short of words when we visited the school recently for the extent of renovation work that has given the school a new look such that it is now being referred to as a mini university campus.
“You did not only renovate blocks of classrooms but also virtually rebuilt a building that was about to be demolished due to its decrepit state but we hardly recognised the building if not that it still stands on the same location.
“We are particularly grateful about the renovation of Sheik Ibiyemi Multipurpose Hall which you have virtually rebuilt and completed with a PVC ceiling, window, roofing with red Aluminium long span and painting.
“Your administration has taken a huge burden off our shoulders as we have been contemplating on how to put resources together to renovate the dilapidated buildings in the school.
“We hereby assure you that we shall take over the responsibility of the maintenance of the renovated buildings so that they will never go bad again.
“Once again, we thank you so much not only for the renovation work you have carried out in 100 schools in the first phase of ‘Operation Renovate All Schools in Ekiti (ORASE), but for all the developmental projects your administration has embarked on in Ekiti State which are too numerous to mention. We pledge our support for your administration in your bid to take Ekiti to greater heights.
“We also seize this opportunity to congratulate you on your recent Leadership Award as the ‘Governor of the year’. We are convinced that you truly deserve the honour and may you continue to glow from glory to glory”
