The Head of Service, Mr. Bunmi Famosaya, has commended the newly created Association of the South-West Auditors-General for Local Governments for coming up with the vision to form the Association. Receiving the leadership of the Association who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Famosaya mni appreciated the Association for setting the pace for other zones to emulate.
Mr. Famosaya praised the Association for taking a cue from Governors and Heads of Service, who had earlier formed the Governors’ forum and the body of Heads of Service. While appreciating what the Association has been able to accomplish, Famosaya charged it to reinvent a new order that would transform the Civil Service in the entire South-West. He urged membership of the Association to see the formation of the Association as an opportunity to tap from each others experience.
The Head of Service, who praised the present administration in Ekiti State for laying a solid foundation for an all-round transformation of the State, urged the body of the Local Government Auditors-General to embark on an immediate clean-up exercise of the third – tier of government with the view of curbing corruption at the tier.
While congratulating Ekiti State Auditor-General for Local Governments, Mr. Bayo Adeojo on his election as the first Chairman of the Association, Mr. Famosaya urged other members to cooperate with him with the aim of making the best out of the system.
Speaking on behalf of members, the sitting Chairman of the Association, who is also the Lagos State Local Government
Auditor-General, Mr. Muhammad Hassan, said the meeting was to harmonize their working operations to promote probity and accountability.
Mr. Mamman, who promised total support for the newly elected Chairman, urged other Heads of Service in the South-West to support the Association in their respective States.
