Commissioner Assures BSES Workers Of Better Working Environment

Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye has assured workers of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) of better and conducive working environment and welfare packages.
Hon. Afuye who gave the assurance while hosting different media unions from the broadcasting outfit in Ado, commended the Executive Council members of the Unions for seeking better working condition for their members.
Mr Afuye who was informed that the working environment including the use of obsolete equipment at the corporation was not conducive for maximum output, assured that speedy action will be taken on the issues raised by the visiting unionists.
The government spokesman promised to contact the members of Board of BSES and top functionaries in the Ministry with a view to finding a lasting solution, saying that the Chairman of the Board, Chief (Mrs) Ronke Okusanya is a professional to the core.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr Akinwale Olaoye decried the poor working condition of staff, noting that staff was being over used, even as promotions were being withheld.
The BSES NUJ Chairman particularly pointed out the poor state of the equipment and the unpalatable effects of such on the output of workers who work round the clock to ensure success of the station.
He noted that it was the love of the profession that has been propelling the workers to achieve whatever success recorded.
