Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi on Sunday received the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye who was in the State for the Church’s “Let’s go a Fishing”.
Receiving the RCCG General Overseer, at the Iworoko Road venue of the programmen Governor Fayemi expressed delight at the visit; saying that the Pastor’s visit has always brought succour to the State.
Fayemi recalled that the State is witnessing peace and development just as Adeboye prophesied during his last visit to the State in 2011.
He expressed optimism that Sunday’s visit and prayers would also translate into greater blessings for the state and its people.
In his sermon titled “God’s Favour”, Pastor Adeboye whose Grandmother was an indigene of Ado Ekiti stated that the purpose of his visit was to pray for and bless the State and its citizenry.
Adeboye prayed for the continued peace and development oF Ekiti State as well as the progress of the citizenry.
At the event were the Deputy Governor, Mrs Funmi Olayinka, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin, some members of the State Executive Council, the Provincial Pastor of the Church in Ekiti Province 1, Pastor Ola Adejubee and other pastors on the General Overseer’s entourage.
Other top functionaries at the event include the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs Funmi Olayinka and her husband, Arc. Lanre Olayinka; Speaker of the House of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin, Commissioners for Finance, Mr Dapo Kolawole and Information and Civic Orientation, Hon Funminiyi Afuye, among others.
