Contractors handling road projects in the state have been tasked to work to specification and deliver quality jobs as and when due.
Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Hon. Adesola Adebayo gave the task during an inspection tour of Agbado-Ode, Ilupeju-Ire, Oye-Ikun-Otun, and other roads in the state.
Hon. Adebayo said good road network was a priority to the present administration; hence, no shoddy job would be accepted from any Contractor, urging them to use quality materials that would make the roads stand the test of time.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barrister Dele Agbede, implored the Contractors to deliver the Projects to time since the government has given necessary mobilization for the contract.
In their reactions, the Contractors, who ascribed the low pace of the job to the effect of lockdown, promised to meet the target with quality delivery.
In the entourage was the Director, Civil Engineering Department, Engr. Adewumi and some top government functionaries. It should be recalled that Governor Kayode Fayemi flagged-off four Road Projects early this year to aid the socio-economic development of the state.
