Governor Fayemi Mourns Demise of Olosi, Oba Agunbiade

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has expressed condolences on the passing of the Olosi of Osi-Ekiti, Oba Oladiran Agunbiade, who joined his ancestors on Wednesday.

The Governor, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, said he was saddened by the news of the monarch’s death, adding that the late Oba Agunbiade served the people of Osi-Ekiti and the State as a custodian of the people’s culture and tradition.

Dr Fayemi who expressed condolences to the family of the late traditional ruler, family, friends, associates and the Olosi-in-Council, said Oba Agunbiade will be remembered for his wise counsel and sundry contributions to the development of Osi-Ekiti and the state in general.

The Governor said the late monarch lived a fulfilled life and left worthy legacy of selfless service through his invaluable contributions to the development of his community.

He prayed God to give the town a successor that would accord the welfare of the people and development of the community top priority as did the late Oba Agunbiade.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I commiserate with the family of the late monarch and the people of Osi. Our prayer is that God will comfort the family and the community. This is a great loss not only to Osi-Ekiti but to the whole State. Oba Oladiran Agunbiade, no doubt, lived a fulfilled life. May God grant him eternal rest,” the Governor added.
