The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ekiti State University (EKSU) chapter, has expressed optimism that the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration would make positive impact on the State, especially in the education sector.
The Chairman of a special committee set up by the Union, Prof Isaac Ajayi who stated this during a courtesy call on the Wife of the State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, said that the administration has started on a good note.
Ajayi who congratulated the Governor’s wife on the victory of her husband in the June 2022 governorship election, said that EKSU lecturers believe that their Union would get more attention from the government since the First Lady is an academic and a member of the Union.
In her remarks, the First Lady thanked the Union for the support it had given to the government since it’s inception in October 2022.
Dr Oyebanji who hailed the relationship between the Union and her office, assured the ASUU members that the relationship would yield positive results in no distant time.
The First Lady reiterated the commitment of the Oyebanji-led administration to improving the education sector in the State; adding that the successes recorded by the last administration would not be allowed to go down the drains.
