Fayemi Hails Osun’s Youth Empowerment Programme

Ekiti State Governor has hailed the concept and execution of the Osun State Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES), urging other states to take a cue from the programme.

Speaking as Special Guest of Honour at the first anniversary of the scheme held at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State on Saturday, Governor Fayemi said, youth empowerment remains a sine qua non to a safe and prosperous society.

Highlighting the similarities between OYES and the numerous youth empowerment initiatives of his administration, Dr Fayemi said only a carefully thought out programmes of empowerment could help provide gainful employment for the country’s teeming population of young graduates.

The Governor urged the youths to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government, even as he reiterated the commitment of the ACN-led government towards eradicating poverty.

Other highlights of the event include parade by the various division of the OYES corps.
