EKHA Pledges Support for Police Command

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has pledged to support the State Police Command towards enhancing security of lives and property in the State.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Omirin gave the pledge while playing host to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Meshanu in Ado-Ekiti.

Rt. Hon. Omirin said the State Government places high emphasis on security of lives and properties, noting that this was the main reason the government procured and donated equipment that would aid the police command in discharging its duties effectively.

He remarked that Ekiti people believe in core values of honesty and hard work promising that the Assembly will always strive to sustain these values.

The Assembly Speaker, who described Ekiti State as the most peaceful State in the Federation, charged the Police Commissioner to work towards sustaining the position.

In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Meshanu who said the crime rate in Ekiti is relatively low compared to others, said he would do his best to ensure that the State is free of all crime and vices.

He solicited the support of the Assembly in order to succeed in the task of policing the State.
