All Parts of Ekiti will be Accessible by 2014 – PMC Boss

Ekiti State Government is irrevocably committed to making all parts of the State accessible by motorable roads by 2014.

The State Chairman of the Projects Monitoring Committee, PMC, Chief Ronti Adebisi reaffirmed this while monitoring the 5 kilometer per LGA project at Efon Alaye Local Government Area of the State.

Chief Adebisi who said that infrastructural development would attract investors to the state and enhance rapid socio- economic advancement of the people, stressed that this is one of the 8-point Agenda of the Fayemi administration.

While assuring the people at Ajetunmobi Igbehin Street where two cemeteries were affected of  readiness of government to pay compensation, the PMC boss charged all the contractors handling the kilometer  LG projects in the state to brace up and complete on schedule and according to specifications to pave way for the second phase of the scheme.

The Chairman advised consultants in-charge of the road project in the state not to tamper with existing line drains as this would save the state resources which could be channelled to other areas.

The Caretaker Chairman, Efon Alaaye Local Government Area, Dr. Adio Folayan commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for the initiative, adding that another 5 kilometer road contract would be awarded immediately the current one is completed.

Dr. Folayan who took the PMC members round the Local Government area commended the contractor for performing very well, urging him to expedite action on the project.

The contractor, Mr. Jack Sankary explained that the project is over 60% completed and assured that the project would be completed before the heavy rains.

At Alajo village in the Local Government Area, the Baale Chief Isaac Afolayan commended Governor Fayemi for the gesture saying the village has been in existence for over forty years without motorable road.

Madam Felicia Taiwo, an indigene of Efon Alaaye who appreciated the initiative of Governor Fayemi on the 5 kilometer road project in each Local Government Areas said this will boost the economic development of the state.
