Road Rehabilitation In Ekiti Will Be All Year Round –Adebisi

Ekiti State Government would continually rehabilitate and maintain existing roads in the State to make them motorable all the year round.

The State Projects Monitoring Committee Chairman, Chief Ranti Adebisi made this known while monitoring 5 kilometer per Local Government road project in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State.

Chief Adebisi who frowned at the slow pace of work done by contractor handling the project in the council area described the performance of the contractor as  and  unacceptable to the Fayemi – led administration that is out to promote good governance and durable infrastructure.

According to him, no responsible government would allow incompetent hands to execute projects that are expected to turn around the fortunes of the people who have long yearned for development.

He explained that the construction of the 5 kilometer road in each local government areas is to open up the rural areas for accelerated development and create optimum communities where people would feel the impact of Government .

The Chairman Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, Major Tajudeen Awe who also frowned at the level of work done so far on the 5km road project in the local government charged the Contractor to brace up.

Major Awe who commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for patronising indigenous Contractors advised local contractors not to abuse the privilege but work according to specifications.

The site engineer, Engr. Adeyemi Kilaso who is supervising the project explained that, his company was  facing logistics problem, but assured that the  pace of work would soon improve to meet  the contractual agreement .

Meanwhile, the PMC boss has summoned the consultant, the Contractor, the site engineer and the  Head of Department of works in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government in repect to  issues relating to the 5 kil;ometer road project in the area.
