Christians Urged To Always Prepare For Death

Christians have been charged to always prepare for death as no one knows when it would come.

Speaking at the Christian wake service for Madam Dorcas Fayemi, mother of Ekiti State Governor,Dr Kayode Fayemi, in Isan Ekiti on Thursday evening, Reverend Father Lawrence Adetola said death was inevitable for all mankind hence the need for all and sundry to live their lives as though they would die soon.
Father Adetola, in his homily titled “Preparation for the Hour”, said preparation for one’s return to the creator was proper and needful because the hour of death was unknown to no one.
The service which took place at the Eyiyato Ground, Isan Ekiti, was attended by a mammoth crowd of friends and well wishers.
Describing Madam Dorcas Fayemi as a devout christian who devoted her life to service while alive, he added that a life of service was essential for the preparation to meet the Lord.
Adetola however urged children of the deceased not to lose heart because of the demise of their mother; saying she had gone to meet the Lord and get a reward for her service before God.
Governor Fayemi read the first Bible lesson at the service, while his elder sister, Chief ( Mrs) Moni Oloro read the second.
At the wake keep service were the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs Funmi Olayinka, her husband, Arc. Lanre Olayinka, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, former Governor of Lagos State and leader of Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, ACN National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba and former  Ekiti State Governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and his wife Angela.
Others are Senator Olu Adetumbi, Senator Bode Olajumoke  Gubernatorial Aspirants of the ACN in Ondo State, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu and Mr Sola Iji, former Miltary Administrator of Ekiti State, Navy Captain Atanda Yussuf (rtd), Vice Chancellor of Federal University Otuoke,  Bayelsa State, Professor Bolaji Aluko, former VC, Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Wale Omole, ACN National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and  Professor Julius Ihoverie among other dignitaries.

The late Madam Dorcas Aina Fayemi, aged 83, would be buried in Isan-Ekiti today (Friday), after a mass at the St Martins Catholic Church, Isan Ekiti.
