Overview

Fountain Agricultural Marketing Agency (FAMA) formally known as Agricultural Inputs Supply Agency (AISA) is an Agency of government under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MA&FS). The law of Ekiti State 2010 Vol.2 Cap E3 section 6 (h,m and n) stated that Ekiti State Agricultural Inputs Supply Agency (AISA) now Fountain Agricultural Marketing Agency (FAMA) has part of its functions as stated below.

Fountain Agricultural Marketing Agency (FAMA) was established to grow the Agricultural sector of the state economy by readily providing marketing platform services through Public Private Partnership (PPP). The target is to boost production, processing, packaging and sales of Agricultural commodities in the state.

Mission and Vision

VISION:

TO GROW THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OF THE STATE ECONOMY BY READILY PROVIDING MARKETING PLATFORM SERVICES THROUGH PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP).

MISSION:

To boost sales of agricultural commodities through;

  1. Provision of marketing linkage
  2. Provision of genuine agro inputs at affordable prices
  3. Mopping-up of excess farm produce
  4. Facilitation of entrepreneurs in processing, branding and packaging.
  5. Improve quantity, stable and good price for finished agricultural produce

The following are the specific mandates of the Agency;

  • To provide efficient marketing platform services to the farmers and processors which consequently remove glut thereby eliminating/minimizing waste.(Rice, Dried fish, Honey, Cocoa products and Garri).
  • To market fresh frozen foods, (Chicken and Fish).
  • To mop-up excess farm produce (e.g. Rice, Cassava, Maize etc).
  • To provide genuine (un-adulterated)
  • Agro-inputs at affordable prices to farmers, such as Herbicides, Insecticides, Fungicides, Fertilizers, Hardware etc.
  • Consultancy services to would be farmers.
  • Fumigation of warehouses, Offices and Houses.
