Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has described the State House of Assembly as a model for what should be the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government; saying that both arms of government should be partners for the good of the people.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti on Sunday at the thanksgiving service marking the One year anniversary of the Assembly held at Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, the Governor said it was no more news that the Assembly is one of the most hardworking, prolific and committed Assemblies in Nigeria.
Fayemi stated that aside the hard work of the Assembly members which has resulted in the birth of no fewer than 29 laws, he has enjoyed a very good relationship with the leadership of the House as they have acted as partners.
Earlier in his sermon, Venerable Francis Bankole had commended members of the Assembly for their integrity and urged them to continue to listen to the voice of the masses; saying that one of the problems the country is facing is that leaders no longer pay attention to the led.
He advised them to continue to represent the people well as their achievements would speak well for them long after they have left office.
The Speaker of the House, Dr Adewale Omirin, assured the Governor that the law makers would continue to partner the executive in the quest to move the state forward.
