EKSG Set To Upgrade Facilities In 6 Hospitals

Ekiti State Government  is to spend  a sum of N66million on the renovation  and upgrading  of  facilities  in  6 selected secondary health facilities across the state

The State Commissioner for Health , Prof Olusola Fasubaa who  made this in Ado-Ekiti during a ministerial Press Briefing and Stake Holders Forum Organised by the State Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation said the  Health Facilities to be upgraded  include Specialists Hospitals at Ikole, Ikere, Ijero, and the General Hospital at Ayede, Ise and Ararmoko.

He stressed that  the state University Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti was being given the  desired  attention to enable it effectively perform its  role as the highest referral hospital in the state

According to the Health commissioner, a new laboratory extension block has been constructed at the Teaching hospital while civil works  had been completed at the Hospital’s new Accident and Emergency block .

He disclosed that the state government had approved the release of funds for the procurement of medical equipment and teaching aids for the new  Accident and Emergency  department as well as the new laboratory extension .

Fasubaa noted that a  sum of N 54 million has been approved for the renovation of existing structures at the teaching Hospital while another sum of  N6.7million was approved Central Sterile Supply Department
