L-R: Ekiti State Commissioner For works, Mr. Sola Adebayo; Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Managing Director Hajaig Construction, Abdulnasir Hajaig, during the Inspection of Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki Road on..Tuesday

The Ekiti State Government is poised for a timely completion of Ado –Iworoko- Ifaki road as it has summoned Hajaig Construction company, which is the contractor handling the road, for a meeting on the completion of the road.

Speaking with journalists while inspecting progress work on the road, the Governor said though the road was not awarded by his administration, the Dr. Fayemi-led administration has taken responsibility for the timely completion of the road so as to make it accessible to commuters in time.
Fayemi added that government was making resources available to the contractor so that he could expedite work on the road; stressing that his constant inspection of the road was to know some of the challenges on the road and how to surmount them.
“You can see that part of the road is being connected and we are very passionate about it, even contracts that we awarded after that, a lot more progress has been made. We didn’t award this contract but we cannot say because we didn’t award it, we should’nt take responsibility for the work that is being done here. That is why I am constantly on the contractor that is why we have invited them back so that we can all see the depth of the problem and then address it”, he said.
The road was awarded in 2007 by the Segun Oni-led administration to be completed within 24 dry months but completion level of the road was just less than 40% before the Fayemi-led administration came on board.
