The Ekiti State Government is set to make cities and rural areas in the state more conducive for healthy living and more attractive to
tourists and investors.
The State Commissioner for Physical, Urban and Regional Planning, Arch. Ebun Awoyemi who stated this in Ado Ekiti explained that the paramount objective of the Urban Renewal Programme of the Fayemi administration is to make the state attractive enough to investors and ultimately reduce unemployment in the state as well as make Ekiti State a place of pride.
Awoyemi said the on-going beautification of Ado, the State Capital would soon be extended to other major towns in the state to make room for even development.
On the removal of some structures in Ado Ekiti, the Commissioner said that the move was to pave way for the development of Ado-Ekiti and admonished residents of the state to see this as a genuine apolitical device for creating a better tomorrow for Ekiti people.
