Human Capital Development Is One Of Our Priority – Fayemi

June 20, 2012

Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi has said that his administration will continue to give priority attention to human capital development.

Speaking while declaring open a 3 day retreat for the staff of the state Civil Service Commission holding at the Pope John Paul ll Pastoral Centre, Ikere Road, Ado Ekiti, Governor Fayemi restated the Commitment of his administration towards engineering a culture of good governance and improved service delivery  in the state public service.

The Governor who was represented at the occasion by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Yemi Adaramodu said that his administration had demonstrated this by deliberately placing premium on welfare packages such as car/housing loans, promotion and capacity building of the entire workforce in the State so that they can be better positioned to drive the reform agenda of government.

He charged Civil Servants to reciprocate the gestures in the collective drive to place the State on the  path of sustainable growth and development.

The Governor described the retreat as yet another effort to give adequate and relevant training to Civil Servants in the State in the belief that it is only a well trained workforce that would have the capacity for desired service delivery at the tempo his administration expects .

He affirmed that when workers are not adequately trained and retrained, they stand the risk of being logs in the wheel of progress of Government.

The Governor noted that the Commission occupies a pivotal position in the implementation of the civil service transformation  of his administration hence the need for the retreat.
