Corporate Bodies Support 2012 World Teachers’ Day In Ekiti

Efforts of the Ekiti State Government to make this year World Teachers’ Day a colourful one has received a boost as Diamond  Bank donates a sum of One Million Five Hundred thousand Naira (N1.5M) in support of the programme.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Eniola Ajayi, gave this information while addressing newsmen  in Ado.
Dr. Ajayi explained that the Bank donated One Million Naira (N1.M) while the remaining N500,000 is a personal donation by the  bank’s Regional Director, {West }  Mr. Olusola Ajayi, who claimed to be the son of a Teacher.
She also disclosed that Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) has promised to support this year’s teachers day celebration  with a sum of N500,000 adding that the bank had also expressed readiness to sponsor next year’s  Principal’s Cup football competition in the state.
The Commissioner restated the commitment of the State Government to the welfare of Teachers and its effort to celebrate them, stressing that government will continue to show love and concern to issues that affect Teachers.
Dr. Ajayi who expressed her appreciation on behalf of the state Government called on well-meaning Nigerians and organizations to support the programme.
