Fadipe Tasks Ekiti Students On New Policy On Bursary

August 15, 2012

The Federation of Ekiti State Students’ Union (FESSU) has been urged to embrace the new policy of the State Government on Bursary award which is designed to ensure that only legitimate Students of Ekiti State Origin in tertiary institutions benefit from the scheme.
While reacting to a correspondence from the union in his Office, in Ado-Ekiti, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Chief Dayo Fadipe in a statement stressed that the new policy was a radical departure from the old order under which non students and non-indigenes took bursary meant for bona fide students of Ekiti State Origin.
Chief Fadipe explained that the Fayemi-led administration has reviewed the amount for the Bursary to Students from N5, 000 to N10, 000 per Student and pointed out that the State Scholarship Board has been saddled with the responsibility of authenticating the genuineness of the lists that emanated from the various institutions to ensure that only bona fide Students were included in the lists for the new scheme.
