Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Professor Olusola Fasubaa has charged youths to shun cultism and other social vices.
Speaking while receiving executive members of the Students’ Union of the Evangelical Church of West Africa, ECWA School of Nursing and Midwifery, Egbe, Kogi State led by its Vice-President, Comrade Rawal Nicholas on a courtesy visit to his office in Ado – Ekiti ,Prof. Fasubaa stressed the need for the youths to see themselves as leaders of tomorrow.
Mr. Fasubaa who commended students of Ekiti State origin in the Kogi State-based School of Nursing for their reported brilliant performances, described them as worthy ambassadors of the state. He assured them that government has sanitized the bursary and scholarship scheme in the state, adding that all bona fide students of Ekiti State origin in tertiary institutions are now assured of benefiting from the scheme.
Earlier, the Vice President of the Students’ Union Government of the ECWA School of Nursing, Egbe, Kogi State, Comrade Rawal Nicholas had presented a glowing report of activities of students of Ekiti State origin in the institution.
According to Comrade Nicholas, not only is that about 45% of students in the institution are from Ekiti, 7 out of 8 students that represented the institution at the last National Florence Nightingale competition are of Ekiti extraction. Nicholas who noted that the president of the students’ union was also from Ekiti, appealed to the state government to see Ekiti as a major stakeholder in the institution and partner with Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) to develop the school.
