Walkways Will Enhance Free Flow Of Traffic – FAKOYEDE

The Chairman of Ekiti State Urban Renewal Agency, Engr. Babatunde Fakoyede has said that the new walkways being Constructed in Ado Ekiti will enhance free flow of traffic and ensure the safety of pedestrians in the metropolis.

Engr. Fakayode who made this known at a forum in Ado Ekiti said the walkways would in addition beautify the state capital. He said that the absence of walkways on major highways in the State Capital and other major towns in the state had led to avoidable traffic jams, auto accidents and loss of lives of pedestrians .

He disclosed that his Agency has also initiated the Construction of lock up shops and open stalls at Agric Olope Area of the State Capital to cater for traders whose shops were affected by the development control programme of the state government.

Speaking on the on-going beautification exercise in the state, the Urban Renewal Agency Chairman said the project is already giving Ado Ekiti a new look as well as providing job opportunities to many indigenes.

Fakoyode charged residents of the State to cooperate with the state Government to enhance the success of its urban renewal programme.
