Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has expressed sadness on the killing of a lecturer in the Faculty of Law, Ekiti State University (EKSU), Mr. Mohammed Sani.
Sani was reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in Maiduguri, Borno State on Monday.

The Governor in a letter of condolence to the family of the deceased, the Hausa Community in Ekiti State and the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, described Sani’s murder as “unacceptable, condemnable, inhuman and barbaric to the extreme.”

He said in the letter that the brutal murder of the senior law teacher has painfully expanded the list of mindless and heartless killings that underscore the growing insecurity in the country.

Fayemi regretted that the assassination of Sani whom he described as a highly valued law teacher with vast experience in legal education has eclipsed a bright star in the nation’s judicial system.

The governor urged the family of the deceased, management, staff and students of EKSU and the Hausa community in the state to take heart and be consoled that the late don touched lives and positively
affected humanity in his lifetime.
