EKSG REITERATES COMMITMENT TO PROMOTING TOURISM.

Ekiti State government has again reaffirmed its commitment to boost
the Economy of the State by promoting Tourism in line with the global
best practices.

This was made known by the Director General, Trade and Investment
Promotion Agency, Mr Ayo Aribidara when he received the visiting
leadership of the International Council for Ifa Religion led by its
National President, Mr Oluoro Solagbade at the Ministry of Art,
Culture and Tourism in collaboration with the Trade and Investment
Promotion Agency in Ado Ekiti.

The Director General highlighted the importance of Tourism towards the
development of world’s economy , saying it was high time the state
prioritize Tourism as a major source of revenue generation like it
obtained in the Republic of Benin,Cuba and others.

Aribidara, promised to give the needed support to the Ifa religious
worshippers as they aimed to trace and identify ifa origin to the
state to make it a Tourist point, stressing that government was ready
to protect the Traditional land mark and give access to the worshipers
or interested members of the society who would like to embark on
Tourist visit to any location provided that the state government was
properly carried along.

Earlier, The Director of Tourism, Mr Adelusi Adebanji said he was not
surprised at the efforts of the group to trace the origin of Ifa
Oracle to the source as he highlighted some advantages that could be
derived, with an assurance to work with any group that is ready to
work and make sure the dreams of the present administration come to
reality.

In his speech, the National President of Ifa Religion, Mr Oluoro
Solagbade observed with sadness how Africans neglected their rich
cultural heritage and allowed it to go into extinction for western
culture and civilization.

Solagbade also explained the reason for their visit to include tracing
Ifa History to the source, which has been discovered to be located in
the city of Ado Ekiti.

“Ifa can not be worshipped without its source, which is Oke Igbeti,
the more reason ifa National worship day has been slated to hold in
Ekiti State between the 20th and 28th May this year. In the eulogy of
the Oracle, there is a verse where ifa is referred to as a short man
of Igbeti mountain. Research made it known that Oke Igbeti is in Ado
Ekiti beside the present government house popularly known as Oke Ayoba
today”. Solagbade revealed.

The president of the group pleaded for government to allow them have
access to the Tourist points, being too close to the seat of power,
promising to be law abiding if permission is granted them.

The Secretary to the Ekiti State Government Dr.Habibat Adubiaro has
joined thousands of women in the state to celebrate this year’s
International women’s day.

The gathering held in Ado Ekiti, was to commemorate the achievements
and struggles of women around the world as well as to celebrate
progress towards gender equality and to reaffirm their commitment to

technology has revolutionized the Way we live and it has offered
unprecedented opportunities for women to thrive”, she explained

succeed in a constantly evolving digital age ,”she said”
