As part of efforts of the Dr Kayode Fayemi administration to open up rural communities and boost agricultural activities, the Ekiti State Government has concluded arrangements to construct a 5 kilometre road network at the Orin Farm settlement at Orin Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during an assessment tour of the proposed sites of the projects, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development and Community Empowerment, Mrs Adesola Oke said that the State Government would also construct 2 hand-dug wells in each of the 16 Local Government Areas while bridges would be constructed on Eri River in Ilejemeje Local Government Area and Ibeji River in Emure Local Government Area.
Mrs. Oke explained that the projects were in response to the requests made by the communities during Governor Fayemi’s Town Hall/ Village Square meetings.
She urged the benefitting communities to give the necessary support for the success of the project, stressing the need to cooperate with the contractors while executing the projects.
She therefore advised the host communities to give constant report of the progress of the various projects to her Ministry as the State Government is set to ensure good quality jobs that would stand the test of time. She added that her office would appreciate constructive contributions from all stakeholders.
