Commissioner Solicits Support Of NITP For Urban Renewal Programme

The Commissioner for Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Remi Olorunleke has solicited the support of the Ekiti State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners for the Urban Renewal Initiatives of the State Government and the preparation of master plan for Ado Ekiti capital territory.

Mr. Olorunleke gave the charge while playing host to executive members of the state chapter of the Institute led by its Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Ojo during a courtesy visit in Ado-Ekiti.

The Commissioner stressed the importance of supporting government to monitor developments, emphasising the need to report defective areas that are not in conformity with standard regulations in order to ensure a well structured environment befitting a state capital.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Chapter, Mr.Babatunde Ojo who lauded Governor Fayemi for appointing an experienced Town Planner as Commissioner, pledged the unalloyed support of his members for the actualisation of the 8 – point agenda of the present administration.
Appealing to the state government to speed up the preparation of Ado Ekiti Master Plan, Mr. Ojo also called for the preparation of structural plans for all the local government headquarters in the state.
