Ekiti State Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mr. Sola Adebayo has reaffirmed the commitment of the Fayemi led administration to make all roads in the state motor able by 2014.

Speaking while inspecting the ongoing dualisation of the Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki road, Mr. Adebayo noted that making all communities assessable by major motor able roads by 2014 as encapsulated in Agenda 2 under Infrastructural Development was a priority of the present administration.

The Commissioner highlighted some of the major roads completed by the state government in the last two years to include Ado-Afao road, Ado-Ilawe road, Awo-Iyin road, Efon-Ipole-Iloro-Ikogosi road, teaching Hospital-Fajuyi road, Erijiyan-Ilawe road as well as the Ewu Bridge in Ilejemeje Local Government Area.

According to him, other roads completed by the administration include Ijigbo-Isato road, Ilawe-Igbara Odo-Ibuji road, Odo Owa-Okeila road, Otun-Osun-Iloro road and the Police Headquarters-Basiri road in the state capital.

The Commissioner assured that all ongoing road projects will be completed on schedule, saying that government has provided all necessary logistics to ensure prompt completion.

He said that all roads constructed by the administration would have bus stops and lay bys that will assist in regulating proper usage of the roads and make room for parking in line with the Urban Renewal programme of the State.

Mr. Adebayo urged all and sundry to reciprocate government’s good gesture to make life more meaningful for the people and its huge investment in developing a good road network in the state by avoiding acts that may damage the roads.

He particularly cautioned the people against indiscriminate dumping of refuse, adding that developers must also desist for dumping gravels and sand on the roads.
