The Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Modupe Adelabu has bagged 2013 Kwame Nkruma Leadership Award by the All Africa Students Union (AASU).

Receiving the award in Ado-Ekiti, Professor Adelabu said she was humbled to receive such a prestigious award from the organisation.
Describing the award as a clarion call to do more for the less privileged, she however noted that she was not enthusiastic about receiving awards as she sees whatever she does as her contribution towards the development of her community.

The SUBEB Boss expressed appreciation to the organiser for the prestigious honour bestowed on her and urged them to extend the hand of fellowship to other hardworking Nigerians with sound antecedents.

The Chairman who dedicated the award to the Glory of God, said it was also a challenge to preach love as well as assist the needy.
The Nigeria Representative of All Africa Students Union, Comrade Yinka Dallas said award recipients from the union were selected based on their antecedents in office.
Comrade Dallas commended Professor Adelabu for her immense contributions to the growth and development of education not only in Nigeria but throughout the African continent.
He stressed that the award was in recognition of the hardwork and honesty of Professor Modupe Adelabu since as far back as when she was in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife as a lecturer.
