Over 3,000 People Benefit From Free Health Mission in Aiyekire

Over 3,000 people in Aiyekire LG Area have benefited from the 7th edition of the Free Health Mission organized by the Ekiti State  Government in collaboration with the State House of Assembly and Development Support Initiative (DSI). The State Commissioner for Health, Professor Olusola Fasuba who made this known at Aisegba Ekiti, explained that those with critical health challenges were referred to Secondary Health institutions for further treatment.

Prof. Fasuba said that over 150 medical personnel are taking part in the program.

According to him, the DSI provided personnel for the program which he noted was a continuous exercise as enshrined in the 8-point agenda of the Fayemi led administration.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Adewale Omirin who was spotted attending to some of the patients, said he was not new to the program as he was one of the coordinators and a consultant for the scheme before he was elected into the state Assembly.

Dr. Omirin assured that patients would be properly screened and treated adding that referable cases would be sent to the General Hospital or other Secondary Health facilities  for further attention.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the program have started to shower encomiums on the state government for the laudable program.

Two of the beneficiaries, Mr. Oluyemi Ogunleye and Mrs. Daodu Aminatu who said they were promptly attended to expressed gratitude to the state government for providing the free health care.

Speaking at the Comprehensive Health Centre, Aaye Ekiti Venue of the  free Health Mission at Ido/Osi Constituency l the caretaker chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Mr. Kehinde Ogunlade lauded the initiative of the Fayemi led administration to provide succour to the people.

Emphasizing that the scheme is devoid of political coloration, Mr. Ogunlade however called for support for the second term bid of Governor Fayemi to enable him continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

In her remarks, the members of the House of Assembly representing Ido/Osi Constituency l, Hon. Bunmi Ajayi Oriniowo said that the health mission was a sort of constituency project of the legislative arm of government.

Hon. Oriniowo appealed to all stakeholders to join hands together and support the developmental efforts of the state government. Some members of the state House of Assembly including the Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Ade Alex Ojo, Adeyinka Adeloye, Adu Clement, Chuchill Adedipe, Olowo Ajiboye, Abeni Olayinka and Bolics Boluwade were seen actively participating and monitoring the program.
