It is with utmost shock and deep grief that I write to express my condolence and sympathy over the sudden transition of my sister, my boss, my leader, my mentor the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Her Excellency, Mrs. ‘Funmilayo Aduni Olayinka.
Death shows the limitations of man. She was a great leader, and It was a great privileged to have worked with her. Her impact would continue to be felt by mankind.
She fought a good fight of faith, finished her course and kept the faith which she received from the Almighty God and shared with humanity. Not once did she betray signs of being sick. Neither did she once let us know that she was in so much pain! She was never tainted by any scandal though out the few years she served Ekiti people. She was a reliable team player. She worked tirelessly to please everyone. She found her way into the Hall of Fame of great women of Nigeria who laboured hard in crashing poverty and gender equality, placing Ekiti into the global world.
She was known for discipline, diligence, dedication, strength, self confidence, focus, efficiency, hard work and her passion for the job. She had elegance, poise, beauty and Brains. She was loyal and an organiser who was worthy of emulation. Above all she was God fearing.
Ekiti is proud to have produced this global citizen. The important thing is not how far, but how well.
We will always remember the memory, but forgetting is hard.
May The Almighty God grant her Eternal rest, and may God also grant us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Amen
