65,000 Benefit From 7th Edition Of Free Health Mission

Over 65,000 people benefited from the recently concluded 7th edition of Ekiti State free health mission held between April 4 and 17, 2013.

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Olusola Fasubaa who made this known at the end of the programme in Efon-Alaaye, noted that the programme succeeded in realising its main objectives of providing medical out-patient services, dental care, eye care services, simple emergency services and provision of essential drugs during the 13-day exercise.
Prof. Fasubaa disclosed that the next edition of the programme will hold in the remaining 13 constituencies in the state before the end of the year.
He added that the programme has attended to the health needs of the people in the various constituencies.  Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the free health mission have continued to express gratitude to the Fayemi led administration for their efforts at ensuring that people of the State have access to free medical services.
A cross section of the beneficiaries interviewed by journalists at the Methodist Primary School, Odo Ayedun, one of the venues of the programme, said that the provision of free drugs and medicated eye-glasses as well as free medical tests has gone a long way in improving their health status and standard of living.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Albert Iyunade lauded the health intervention programme, noting that the scheme was without political bias.

Mr. Iyunade therefore appeal to all and sundry to support Governor Fayemi towards ensuring the success of his administration.
