Residents of Ekiti East, Ikole and Aiyekire Local Government Areas have commended the Fayemi led administration for its various developmental projects executed across the state.
A cross section of people of the area who spoke during a monitoring and evaluating tour of the 5km local government road projects in the Local Government Areas by Chairman and members of the State’s Fiscal Responsibility Commission, expressed gratitude to Governor Kayode Fayemi for initiating the road projects in all the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
High Chief Fidelis Ojo of Araromi-Ugbesin in Ekiti East Local Government Area saluted the wisdom of the local government functionaries for siting the projects where they would massively feel the impact on the lives of the people.
Also speaking in the same vein, Mrs. Oluodo Taiwo of Imila Street in Odo-Ayedun and Mr. Michael Fasiku of Oke Anaye Street in Ikole said that the 5km road project constructed in their communities has enhanced trade and commerce in the area.
According to them, this laudable initiative if properly executed and sustained would aid rapid transformation of all parts of the state.
In the meantime, residents of Aiyekire Local Government Areas have appealed to the State Government to prevail on the contractor handling the 5km road project in the area to increase the pace of work and complete the project on time.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Bayo Aina has said that the 5km road projects initiated by the state government is not another jamboree but a bold step towards making all parts of Ekiti accessible by motorable roads by 2014.
Mr Aina who stated this while addressing newsmen after accessing the level of work done on the projects in Aiyekire, Ekiti East and Ikole Local Government Areas restated that the present administration in Ekiti has zero tolerance for sub-standard and shoddy jobs.
The FRC boss solicited the commitment and sincerity of contractors towards ensuring speedy completion of the projects across the state to pave way for the second phase of the project.
