Ekiti State Government has presented staff of office to the Onipere of Ipere-Ekiti, Oba James Olufemi Omiyale, the Ajagungbade I.
Presenting the Staff of Office, the Deputy Governor of the State, Prof. Modupe Adelabu charged the new Monarch to be accommodating and maintain peace in his domain.
Adelabu explained that the selection was fair and done in accordance with the statutory laws guiding the selection of traditional rulers in the state. She also called on the entire people of Ipere-Ekiti to cooperate with the monarch to make his reign successful.
In his remarks, the special Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Remi Ajayi who was represented by the Administrative Secretary, Mr Alabi enjoined other contestants to the stool to give the new king their maximum support.
He also congratulated the Oba and urged him to do all within his power to ensure that peace reign in his domain.
Present at the occasion were traditional rulers across the state as well as the Caretaker Chairman of Ilejemeje Local Government Area.
