Fayemi to Distribute Over N33 Million Cheques to Needy Patients

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi will on Monday, 11th November, 2013 present cheques worth over 33 million Naira to about 60 medically challenged Ekiti indigenes to settle their health bills.
A statement from the office of the State Commissioner for Health, Prof Olusola Fasubaa explained that the gesture was part of the efforts of the Fayemi-Administration to reduce the financial burden of needy patients.
According to the statement, the cheques that will be presented to the beneficiaries at the Comprehensive Health Centre, Okeyinmi in Ado-Ekiti at 8 am is expected to assist the recipients to pay for surgery and other complex medical treatments they are undergoing.
The event is expected to be attended by members of the State Executive Council, Members of the State House of Assembly, Caretaker Chairmen, Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals, Permanent Secretaries, Traditional Rulers, opinion leaders and patients whose names had earlier been announced on the state owned radio and television stations.
It will be recalled that the Fayemi-Administration in April this year distributed cheques worth over 21million Naira to 51needy patients for urgent surgery and other complex treatment as part of steps at providing holistic and comprehensive healthcare services for the people of the state in line with the 8-Point Agenda of the administration.
